Hampton Roads

VSH has been serving Hampton Roads for over a decade. VSH expanded to the Hampton Roads region by invitation of Efficiency Housing of Hampton Roads in 2002 and our first community was built in Norfolk in 2006. VSH remains a strong partner in regional efforts to end homelessness and has since developed permanent supportive housing communities serving more than 500 formerly homeless single adults in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, and Western Tidewater. VSH in Hampton Roads has been recognized as a national leader in creating truly regional solutions to homelessness. Our Housing-First model understands that providing immediate access to stable housing is key to ending homelessness. Once the chaos of homelessness is eliminated, the likelihood that individuals remain off the streets and improve their lives increases exponentially.

We remain committed to Hampton Roads and are grateful for the progress that has been made to end chronic homelessness in the region.
