Truist Charitable Fund names 17 new grant recipients

March 15, 2024

Homelessness is a crisis across Virginia – not just in cities. And while our model is currently tailored to the opportunities available in cities, projects like our partnership with STEPS in Farmville are taking us to a different type of community than our current footprint. It requires us to find ways to adjust our model to suit the specific needs of suburban and rural areas.

To that end, we’re delighted to be the recipient of a $250,000 grant over three years from Truist to “help VSH expand its geographic footprint to bring affordable housing and permanent supportive housing developments to more rural and suburban communities in Virginia.”

This funding will allow us to work thoughtfully and intentionally to shape a supportive housing model best suited to serving the needs of suburban and rural communities across Virginia.

Thank you Truist for your belief in our mission to permanently solve homelessness and your commitment to making it possible!
